Help slow the spread of COVID-19 with one step on your phone.
What is COVID ENX?
How does it work?
Alaska COVID ENX is an innovative, collaborative system developed by Apple and Google that uses the Bluetooth technology on smartphones to exchange anonymous “pings” between users. If an individual later tests positive for COVID-19, Alaska COVID ENX automatically and anonymously notifies the other pinged users of their possible exposure. This empowers Alaskans to act quickly if they come into contact with an individual who tested positive for the virus, slowing down the spread of the virus in the community.
The system is anonymous and is opt-in. No locations are tracked. It doesn’t know your name and your identity will never be revealed to anyone. The service will never collect, transmit or store any of your personal information.
The University of Alaska Anchorage is the designated public health authority for ENX in Alaska.
